Jack Russell

“Finding your purpose, passion and plans"

In Jack's last year in Downside School with only five days training he stepped into kayak the 125 miles Devizes to Westminster canoe race. A mile and a half before Westminster he and his partner capsized under four Thames barges. Whilst trapped underwater and having a near death experience he promised himself if he survived he would live life to the full. He and his partner were awarded the Sir Louis and Lady Gluckstien trophy for fortitude and courage.

The day he left school he cycled a 1000 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats with a budget of £50. During the journey he made a personal commitment to positively influence and motivate others to achieve great things.

Jack's father was in the army and having traveled round the world as a child his passion grew for adventure and travel.

He worked in three schools as head of the geography department and taught Prince Harry and William on courses.

Jack's passion for people grew and he decided to pursue a degree in Psychology and Recreation in Plymouth and Purdue University in America.

In 1992 Jack set up the Adventure Centre at Kelly College. This was a new business venture working with education and corporate organisations specifically focused on personal development, leadership and team development. Clients included the all women's polar relay, Olympic athletes and Dartmouth Naval College.
