Jack Russell Coaching can guarantee to get your team thinking about how they can work better together; by learning to connect, communicate and adapt to achieve a greater understanding of people and preferences. Whether your team wants to break out from the silo culture or wants to simply reward its success, all of our programmes are uniquely designed to meet the objectives of your team and create strategy for the future.
Our outdoor team days are perhaps the next step for companies who want to take their teams to the next level. We can offer two types of courses, featuring a variety of adventurous activities. Facilitated by highly experienced staff in both positive psychology and outdoor coaching.
Held in the beautiful setting of Dartmoor National Park, this unique location offers teams the chance to abseil, climb on real rock, scramble and navigate across the stunning moorland. The day is made up of strategic team tasks, cerebral challenges and even the chance to go for a swim during our UXB challenge.
If you’ve got a location you love, we can meet you there. Many of our outdoor tasks are transportable and our staff are professionally qualified outdoor practitioners; able to work across the UK and Internationally.
For years we have been the leaders in personal development in outdoors. The military and the three national outdoor centres have used us to run their programmes. At Jack Russell Coaching we believe introducing an outdoor element to your team’s experience increases the speed and depth of learning. The safe and calculated use of outdoor tasks creates a neutral environment for peers to gain trust amongst each other and partake in an experience that is stretching for most.
Programmes are predominantly based on Dartmoor; Jack Russell the director has been operating in this area for 25 years, with a vast spectrum of tasks, venues and environments to deliver from. Jack Russell Coaching is also mobile to facilitate courses around the UK and globe. With a team of highly qualified and experienced outdoor professionals, we are equipped to challenge your team mentally, physically and emotionally, whilst ensuring the team’s safety on all levels. Our philosophy has always been ‘challenge by choice’. For further reassurance please visit our own team page to learn more about the staff and their adventures.
“The two days our Senior Leadership Team has spent with Jack and his team on Dartmoor has been an invaluable opportunity to learn about and from each other. We already knew we were a good team, but now we know we can be truly excellent. The experience has really challenged each of us individually and all of us collectively and built a shared sense of trust, respect and support. There was blood, sweat and tears but mostly laughter. It was great to build on the work we did earlier in the year and we can’t wait to do the follow up session looking at how we embed the learning within our organisation. Thank you so much for a fantastic experience.”

Many of our clients have asked us to develop a programme to promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We have a tried and tested programme to walk from Belstone to Ivybridge (North to South Dartmoor) a distance of 35 miles.
Before the trip clients are asked to plan logistics, transport, equipment and people. Clients raise money for specific charities as an organisation and teams are picked to walk the total distance of 35 miles or engage in a relay.
During the journey the team is responsible for developing resilient behaviour, decision making, navigating, radio procedure, leading the team, being in charge of logistics, timings and planning the route.
JRC offer selection courses which make choosing the perfect team or individual for your project, expedition or adventure easy. Having selected Air Ambulance crews, teams to go to the North Pole, all-women’s Polar relay and many teams to go on oversee expeditions, Jack fully understands the important of meeting the needs of the selection process.
JRC combine psychometric profiling, motivational mapping, demanding leadership tasks, and strategic team tasks to test individuals physically, mentally and emotionally; ensuring you get the right individuals for the task. Insights Discovery Profiles, Motivational Maps and personal statement reports can be provided.
As selection needs are often unique to the project or expedition, please get in touch via Contact Us to see what JRC can offer you.
